더 월 스트리트 저널에 실린 도발적인 내용의 칼럼이다. 위 칼럼의 내용이 사실이라면 아버지 없이 자란 아이들은 만악의 근원인 셈이다. 언뜻 그럴 거 같지만 과연 저런 내용을 정치학자가 주장할 만한 것인가 의문스럽기도 하다.
