철도 아닌데 열매가 없다고 말라 죽으라며 무화과나무를 저주한 예수

예수께서는 그 나무를 향하여 “이제부터 너는 영원히 열매를 맺지 못하여 아무도 너에게서 열매를 따먹지 못할 것이다.” 하고 저주하셨다.
공동번역 마가복음 11:12~14

무화과나무가 열매를 맺을 철도 아닌데 굳이 멀리서 무화과나무 앞에까지 가서는 열매가 없다며 저주를 했다. 근데 다른 번역들에는 저주했다는 말이 없다.

저주를 했든 그냥 위와 같이 말만 했든 뜬금없긴 매한가지다. 특히 고따마 싯닷타의 가르침과 비교하면 격이 더욱 떨어진다.

글만 봐서는 이해할 수 없으니 해석을 해야 한다.

겉으로는 따르는 척하며 속으로는 다른 유태인들에 대한 비유라는 설명이다.

This cursing of the barren fig-tree represents the state of hypocrites in general, and so teaches us that Christ looks for the power of religion in those who profess it, and the savour of it from those that have the show of it.
